We boarded our riverboat, the AmaSonata, in Vilshofen, Germany. This riverboat is Amawaterway’s newest boat having been inaugurated in May of 2014. This boat is state of the art in every respect. The cabins are larger that I expected, most with a French balcony (sit in the cabin with an open sliding glass door) and a regular balcony with two chairs and a small table for outside relaxation. The cabins have a nice size shower with multiple shower heads. Free WiFi is available through out the boat, with free movies, TV, and internet access using the 27″ iMac in every cabin. There’s a beautifully designed lounge the crew refers to as “the living room”, which is one deck directly above the main dining room.
The main dining room offers booths for six people, round tables for lively conversations, and two “private wine room” dining areas which can easily seat 14 people each. The ‘living room” has seating for the boat’s capacity, a bar, and windows on three sides for a 270 degree view. The boat is also equipped with a beauty salon and a small exercise room with two bikes and two treadmills. The sun deck runs the length of the ship and has multiple seating areas, a heated pool with swim up bar, a large hot tub, lounge chairs with umbrellas, and heat lamps for the cooler evenings. There’s even an elevator for those who don’t want to walk up and down the few stairs between the decks. Here’s a link to view the ship. CLICK HERE
Here are some of the images I took, except for the first one…….
Check out the AmaWaterways website using the link above. This is definitely a ship and cruise you should consider.
